Top 'n Bottoms |

I had a thought the other day, it's something I should share. The thought I had, I have to say, refers to what we wear. Have you ever wondered why, of all the things we wear. The stuff that's on the bottom half, is spoken as a "pair". We wear our socks, we wear our pants, and yes, we wear our shoes, we even wear our knickers, does that give you the clues? You say it's 'cause we have two legs, but then that doesn't gel, because the ladies have TWO breasts, they wear ONE bra as well! Below the waist we wear such things, as slippers, shoes and socks. Other items come to mind, like trousers, pants and 'jocks'. Daks and undies, strides and drawers, whatever term you use, 'grundies' is another name, of many you can choose. For those of you who have a doubt, the top half fares no better, one shirt, a tie or jersey too, a singlet or a sweater. Those names they all are singular, for our upper half, so I leave you now to choose, to cry or maybe laugh! There are exceptions, that's for sure, but generally the rule, appears what's worn below the waist, is spoken as plu-ral. Alan Gilchrist
